A walk to remember
Our series of Kurio events began at the end of August with a historical tour of old world South East London. The professional tour guides took us back in time to discover buildings such as the Old Hops Exchange, Old George Inn, and the real site of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. We were told of the Southwark origins of Harvard University founder John Harvard and how his family once owned a pub on Borough High Street (we saw the plaque to prove it). The tour ended near the intriguing Crossbones graveyard, a resting place of vagrants and paupers that is both shrouded in mystery and located opposite our Union Street showroom. The aroma of our BBQ led us back to the CBS garden where we enjoyed a chef- prepared feast of meats, fish and salad (vegetarian and gluten free options were abundant also). The weather was mild and it was great to catch up in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The next Kurio event taking place on 9th November is a model-making master class with Stephen Fooks, Production Director of Pipers, Pipers is a premier architectural model-making practice within Europe and the UAE. If you would like to attend this event please contact Hannah Winchester on 0207 940 4270 or via email.

Little Britain Sailing Regatta
The Little Britain Challenge Cup took place September 8th-11th, and CBS was proud to participate. It was a great opportunity for networking, forming connections with people one may not otherwise meet, while in a laid back casual atmosphere and raising much needed funds for charity.

Riba Roadshow
CBS took their RIBA ‘Roadshow’ series to Manchester last month. Trudy Martin (CBS Technical Consultant) presented a CPD lecture about ‘Workplace Ergonomics’ to an engaged audience. We extend an ongoing invitation to engage in our CPD program with Trudy, as it is full of interesting insights into ergonomics and design. Sessions can be arranged by calling or emailing Trudy or visiting our website.
