Ergonomics in the workplace - Our philosophy At CBS we focus on ergonomic design. We bridge the gap between people and technology by providing solutions designed around users for optimum comfort and productivity in the workplace. What do we mean by ‘Ergonomics’? From the Greek ergon meaning to work and nomos meaning natural laws. In essence ergonomics is about designing environments and products to suit the people who use them in order to improve well being and optimise productivity. Workplace ergonomics and technology Working with technology and equipment in environments with poor ergonomic conditions can bring about physiological and psychological problems. It can lead to a dramatic increase in the risk of developing serious conditions such as Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSIs) and Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WRMSDs). Ergonomically designed products assist in preventing these injuries by encouraging correct postures and maximizing comfort, promoting a healthier and more productive workforce. Research and education CBS gathers information on ergonomics in the workplace to better inform product design and in retaining this knowledge believe it is important to share it. A seminar on workplace ergonomics, facilitated by Technical Consultant Trudy Martin, is offered by CBS to give detail on the study of ergonomics and its context within design and technology. The CPD presentation is RIBA approved, suited to architects, designers and specifiers. Please click here for more information. We are providers of RIBA approved CPD seminars to architects, designers and specifiers. For further information email us at cpd@cbsproducts.co.uk.
