Sustainable Materials

We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our products by using the appropriate tools to assess their footprint right from the early design stages. The choice of materials has the most significant influence on our products' environmental footprint, which is why we prioritise the use of sustainable materials with good circular performance.

We are dedicated to increasing the recycled content in core materials such as aluminum, steel, and plastics. We are also researching new methods to enhance the sustainability performance of our products while maintaining durability and longevity.

Circular Design 

Circular performance is enabled in the earliest design stages of a product. Considering the carbon footprint, and importantly the performance in a circular economy is crucial in minimising environmental impact.   

Design for Longevity is a key principle in the circular economy, ensuring that products are made to last, reducing waste, and minimising climate and nature-related footprint. Leveraging high-quality materials and developing products that can stand the test of time has always been a key principle for us at CBS since the first design of the iconic Gemini in the 1980s. We also ensure that every product is of the highest quality and rigorously tested to meet tough standards that provide our industry-leading warranties.
